Donuts and Palm Trees

Val Douroux here, reporting live from fabulous So Cal; the Mecca of strip-mall donut joints! It's Grandma Lopiccolo's 90th Birthday and in honor of this incredible woman, the whole family's here to celebrate! It's been 10 years since I've seen my cousins, and boy did we have some catching up to do. After several rounds of drunk Jeopardy, I awoke stumbling all over the place. What does one do to cure a hangover... Eat a doughnut!

With my good donut companion (Andreas) still in Utah, I had to roam solo. Who knows where the nearest joint is, but f* it! I'll find one in no time.

2 Hours Later...

After shopping with Mom and Grandma Lopiccolo at the 99cent store, I FINALLY saw the light shine from heaven.

Yes! I hopped across the street and filled my senses with mankind's greasiest gift.

Mmmm....

OH Yeah! Cocaine, anyone?

It brings me great sorrow to announce that Beyond Glazed SLC has closed. Perhaps it was the poor location... My heart and spirit are with you, Beyond Glaze.



On a bright note... There's a Beyond Glaze in Draper. That's right! All you IKEA shoppers, forget the cinnamon rolls. Beyond Glaze is conveniently located off the same freeway exit at approximately 177 West 12300 South. Call your girlfriends, bring your moms. You won't regret it!

Cali Doughnuts!

After a hard night of partying in the fabulous city of San Fran, I had the munchies! In honor of my good friend Andreas (who has a fascination with Polk street), I went to Bob's Donuts in the enchanted Nob Hill district. For all of you drunk hooligans looking for a place to get something sweet and greasy, Bob's is open 24 hours! Not just that though, Bob's has arguably the best crumb doughnut in the west! The second this donut hit my tongue, my whole body got the shivers. I bought another to save for later, and it tasted just as good in the afternoon. Bob's does not accept credit or debit cards, so come with some cold hard cash.

Oh Yeah!

Again, Andreas and I could not resist the heavenly, delectable doughnuts of Beyond Glaze. They had new flavors like hot jalapeño (which Andreas tried and I thought was disgusting), but I admire his courageous and adventurous spirit. The customer service was impeccable. Look at this classy glass dish! I ate my blueberry torte doughnut (above) feeling like a Goddess. Five stars and two thumbs up!

The Dankest

Donuts with pink frosting and rainbow sprinkles are an orgasm in my mouth! Mad props to Donuts and Deli (2700 S. State St.) for holdin it down Winchell's-style.
